Benedict Douglas-Scott is a multidisciplinary artist and physics teacher
working in London.
Studying at Central St. Martins from 2022-2025 he completed an MA in Art and Science, the two major passion of his life. His work explores themes of deep time, longevity, ruins and shared consciousness. Working primarily in sculpture he explores symbolism and archaic imagery through casting in concrete and metal. He also enjoys the medium of woodcut and Lino print for its expressive qualities.
Benedict and Jack have an ongoing artistic collaboration, where they are mutually inspired by each other's work.
Benedict's woodcut print 'With Winter's Help' was inspired by Jack's poem 'Empress Matilda flees Oxford', first published in Popshot Quarterly. The woodcut print measures 1m in width and 42cm in height.
Jack has written several poems in response to Benedict's 'Behind The Veil' and 'The Ages of the Sun' series, including 'Fractal', winner of the Poetry Society's Members' Competition.
